30 Riders each riding 30 days and each getting 30 sponsors at just one pound each day would raise a grand total of £27, 000
The Idea
The Les Bourgs Hospics fundraising and activities have long been associated with the Rocque to Rock bike ride. However numbers participating are maybe not as high as past years although cycling has been increasing in popularity. We at Ian Browns know many who cycle regularly and a lap of the island does not present much of a challenge.
For 2008 we launched the new 30in30 Challenge and are re introducing the challenge for 2009. This is not a mass participation event. The Les Bourgs Hospics Rocque to Rock will remain as the ride, which hopefully attracts 1000s of cyclists raising much needed funds for the hospice. The 30in30 Challenge is targeted to the keener cyclists. We are hoping to find 30 cyclists who will commit to riding their bike for a minimum of 1 hour each day from 7th June for 30 days and will hopefully each find 30 sponsors at £1 for each day. Each challenger can ride whenever and wherever they like but we would anticipate that many might get together at times.
