Weekly Oge

I know I know!
I have let you down already! Another couple of weeks have gone by with no weekly oge! I`m afraid I had no computer for the last couple of weeks as it was overloaded with all the wifes online shopping! It had to go and get repaired but I`m back again!!!

Well this week has been all about one of the highlights (or at least mine) of the year. THE TOUR OF GUERNSEY!!
While Schleck has been trying to drop Contador in the Pyranees, REJUVINATED, ACCIDENT PRONE Roe was dropping everybody up Alpe Du Pleinmont! While Armstrong was hitting the dirt, KENYAN, 60`S PORNSTAR was riding more dirt than you could imagine! When Wiggins was geeting dropped in most places, so was I!!!
We had xc`s, we had hill climbs, we had a crit amongst other things and we had 4x races!
Racing was good all week and the banter was awesome as allways. We had records broken, we had crashes, we had injuries and we had tantrums!
Some people started the xc on Sunday with a little sore head after the BAGPUSS managed to stay awake long enough to say I DO to the lovely Vay. Good luck my dear, your gonna need it!!
So with me feeling rather under the weather I let the mighty KENYAN take 1st spot! By the looks of the vets it was gonna be a very close week between THAI Batiste and the STEAM TRAIN Peerson. GLORY HUNTER O`Rielly was in for a shock as WACKO JACKO Jackson took the win in the novice.
Downhill the following day and it was REVIN KEVIN Robert who was faster than anyone else to show some gnarly, sick, PHat tricks in getting down in style! I am happy also to report that GLORY HUNTER managed to stay on his bike and not in the P.E.H. keeping his lungs in tact for at least another year! WACKO JACKO also managed to stay away but on returning to the bottom and after crashing on the very 1st corner looked like he was having a tough time and had more blood on him than a suicide bomber!
Next up was the Alpe Du Pleinmont hill climb and some very fast kid going by the name of James SCHLECK ripped up there 8 seconds faster than ever before! After a few minutes checking his bike to see if Cancellara had lent him his duracell cranks it was confirmed that this wasn`t the case and that it must of been drugs instead!!
Next day and it was the Delancey crit to tackle and something truly amazing happened. PORNSTAR Smart won (this is true) a sprint!!!!! If you have just read this and fallen off your chair injuring yourself then please see the KENYAN for compensation!
Like the tour in France, the tour of Guernsey also has a rest day! They have ridden about 3 thousand miles and we have ridden about 3 so why not?!? Time to put your feet up and psych yourself out for the deadliest terrain of all (got shivers down my spine while typing this) the moto cross track!! Never will I be the same after 2 years ago riding most of the valley on my front wheel only to lose out and land on my head! After a change of course with some rebuilding of dirt on the course I nearly ended up building up my own dirt! But as for everybody else and my self (by luck more than judgement) their were now crashes! ROADIE IN DENIAL got one back on me by winning this off road terrain level of cycling. By now things were really getting close with only a couple of points seperating REJUVINATED Roe, PORNSTAR and ROADIE IN DENIAL. It was also very close between STEAM TRAIN and THAI, BIGGEST SIDE BURNS Batiste in the vets. GLORY HUNTER found himself on his own out front in the novice class.
Next day it was the Chouet prologue to deal with and it was ROADIE IN DENIAL who once again shows he quite likes the nobbly tired bikes to play on! Unfortunately it was now down to a 2 horse race with REJUVINATED, ACCIDENT PRONE Roe crashing out on the rocks and literally walked to the finish and still wasn`t the slowest! It was later revealed that he dislocated his collarbone! OUCH!!!
Heading into the last race of the week was the long xc at Chouet and a very fascinating race between STEAM TRAIN and BIGGEST SIDE BURNS was hotting up with the winner of this race taking the overall win for the week. It was very close for a while but BIGGEST SIDE BURNS got the better of STEAM TRAIN to win! Also at the race it was another vet who was stealing the limelight of the day and showing the young ones what NOT to do by spitting the dummy (no not me for a change) and throwing his bike on the rocks! Oh dear I think I need a new bike!! Can`t mention any names on that one though so you will have to keep guessing. Head up `GAZ`!!
In the seniors it was KENYAN who won ahead of ROADIE IN DENIAL with the latter getting the win overall. Oh and yes you guessed it, GLORY HUNTER got the win in the novices.
Personally after such a hard week (2 dnf`s, a last place and a string of double figure finishes) I was looking forward to a few brendas and had my prayers answered at the presentation. (beats the easter venue)

Looking ahead this week will be the road crit on Thursday with the 25 TT on Sunday.
Ride your hearts out and keep safe!

Leon (now back off the beers after some embarrassing encounters) Ogier
